Meticulous Photography

IMG_1489-Edit-3.jpg

I chose this photo by Emily Blincoe because the colors stood out to me. Everything matched well and went well together especially the background darkish blue with the bright orange flowers. The background tends to help the flowers and the leaves stand out more to give it a more vibrant color which kind of remind me of spring and all the blooming beautiful flowers. I love the way that she put the leaves in different positions and made it all come together at the end with the way she arranged them and the use of different vibrant colors. This photo also stood out more to me because of the color pop that is used it gives a more joyful but peaceful mood to it and these are reasons on to why I chose this photo.

3 Most Influential Photos of All Time

For the first photo I chose the V-J Day in Times Square that was photographed by Alfred Eisenstaedt. This photograph tends to capture the anguish, wonder, and a joyful life full of love and happiness. This photo was taken when World War 11 had ended and that is how Alfred was able to capture this joyous moment because everyone was happy it ended. This photo has become popular around the world for the joy and relief captured in this photo. I chose it because it tends to give off a joyous and loving mood to it. I also chose it because it was able to capture such a beautiful moment and seems as if they’re with each other as if no one else were to be around them with so much happiness.

This photo the Nuit de Noel or also known as the Happy Club was taken by Malik Sidibe which was beautiful photo that tends to show happiness. This photo was show to people which are a couple lost in the moment and lost in each others eyes to show happiness and them living there life in a club with each other as if there was no one else in the world. In this moment it is when they were entering a new era where woman could be with men and even hold hands and it wouldn’t be wrong so that is why the photographer captured this moment to show the intimacy and happiness of a new and better era. I chose this photo because it captured the moment in which they show love for each other and show there happiness while dancing.

This photo was called the Pillow Fight with the Beatles and the photographer was Harry Benson. Harry Benson didn’t want to capture these kinds of photos he was supposed to go to Africa to take photos but instead got this iconic photo. He wanted to be taken for a serious journalist but once he met the boys he was glad he got the chance to photograph them and felt proud of what he was doing. This photo was bale to capture the joy, optimist, and excitement that would be seen and a Beatles mania which was perfect for who they’re. The reason why I chose this photo because it shows a more child like photo which means that it shows there childish side of them having fun and just being overall happy which is a great representation of the Beatles and who and how they are.

Birds Eye

Capturing Action and Motion

On the website “How to Capture Motion Blur in Photography” it is explaining to beginner photographers how to capture motion and blur correctly in a photo. Photographers normally only think about taking motion and blur pictures when taking photos of athletes playing or fast-moving objects like cars. One way in order to take a better motion or blur picture is to change the shutter speed. The shutter helps to see the amount of time that the shutter of the camera is open long enough in order to allow the cameras image sensor to see the moving  object well. But then again the shutter speed will be determined by the moving object and how fast it is moving which will determine what speed it should be on.

There are many settings you could change for a photo in order to take the perfect motion and blur photo. One of the most important settings would be the shutter priority mode which would be perfect to use for motion photos. Which this means that you would need to change the photo to full Manual Mode or Shutter Priority Mode. This mode helps you choose your shutter speed and you’re able to change most of the settings like the aperture. This mode is very helpful and a great choice for taking photos that show motion. The other mode which would be Manual Mode would be helping getting the aperture and shutter speed on the right balance to get the perfect lighting.

Compensating will not be affected by how much lighting enters the shutter but if anything will be helpful and can make the photo better. Which this photo will lead to exposed shots. The aperture is best to be cut down by lighting and just have the right amount for the photo which you can do by adjusting the aperture. By decreasing the ISO it is a different way to have the right amount of lighting on the photo and it is a different way to compensate on a photo. A higher number will make it more sensitive to light and a lower number will make the sensor less sensitive. A neutral density filters cut down the light passing through your lens and into your camera. there are many ways in which you can use to take better motion pictures.

Ted Talk On Connection Between Everybody

Photography is able to bring us all together without knowing and connect us in many ways it tends to carry a power within it. Many people assume that photos are taken because they’re “cool” but that’s not why they are taken bit it gives glimmers of hope and a look for solutions. Pictures are taken to see the more artistic side of the world and see it through different views. By saying that it shows that when taking a picture there are two different points of views to see the photo. One is by seeing it through the photographers eyes and the other is by seeing it through the audiences eyes. As the man said he tried to save his son from drowning but the son saw it as why are u taking me out without knowing he was trying to be a hero All photos are able to be seen through different points of views and seen differently through everybody.

Photos are able to address many important topics. A simple photo could demonstrate many thoughts or meanings within the photo to show a story or to send a message to the audience. For example it was shown when the photographer took the picture of the woman with a mess in the back. It was able to focus on her and show everything about her and didn’t show much of the mess in the back. Then it shows of the photo of the elephant with the horns which was taken to show how beautiful they look with the horns. this was shown because they take off the horns and sell them which shows a sad story to the photo to send an important message to stop buying them to save the elephants from being hurt.

Photography is a different way to show how artistic you are and is a fun way to express yourself through a photo. You are able to do this by setting the mood of the photo and sending a message through the photo to represent your artistic style. You can see how the guy was always enjoying his time taking photos of the Leopard Seal. He had an amazing time taking photos of the seal and was able to learn more about them. He ended up having a connection with the Leopard Seal and they were able to have a bon which led to having better photos. Photography is able to make a connection between the other person or animal and the photographer which shows that photography is able to lead positive things around the world by creating connections with eachother.

All About Me

For my collage i was able to use 12 things that represent me very well because these are some of the things I love. I chose Netflix and then added a picture of the Vampire Diaries because this is something that I have been very caught up on. I have been watch the Vampire Diaries for over three months and just finished it and i plan on rewatching it again. The reason why it represents me is because i have grown onto it and I love the show and how it is. Then I chose Netflix because I am normally on Netflix watching shows or movies such as The Vampire Diaries. Legacies, and The Originals. This is why I chose those two picture for my collage that represent me very well.

Then I chose the America and Mexico symbol for the soccer teams that I go for. The reason why I chose these two symbols for my collage to visually represent me is because I personally love soccer. I love watching the games of my two favorite teams and I love to play soccer which I’ve been playing for over 20 years now. Soccer has been a big part of my life and I have grown into it and it came from being a hobby to a passion. Then I chose the America symbol because I have gone for this team since I was  new born my dad put this team on me and now I watch every game with him and it has made us grow a stronger bond. This is why I have chose the America and Mexico soccer symbol because I have grown a passion for soccer and love it very much.

Then some of the last things that I chose for my collage is food. The food that I chose is a raspado, hot cheetos, and tacos. The reason why I chose these is because I love tacos de carne asada or de carnitas. I always eat tacos with salsa verde or salsa roja with lemon which I love to eat. Then I chose the raspado because sometimes when I would go out on the weekends me and my family would go to Xtreme Raspados and we would go and buy stuff and I would always get that. Then I chose the hot Cheetos because normally three times a week I eat  a bowl with hot Cheetos lemon chamoy and a bit of salt because I love to eat hot Cheetos.

Top Photographer with Nigel Barker

Episode 1. Top Photographer with Nigel Barker

In this show there are different contestants who are supposed to complete the task and do the best they possibly can even it might not be the work there used to doing they have to do there best. They have 30 minutes to capture a photo of there main focus and do the best to get the essence of the person. They each have to figure out a pose angles lighting and the way that they’ll shoot the picture in order to come out with the perfect picture to also focus on the personality of the main focus. As the challenges go they will eliminate one person and see which is the best picture and as they keep going the challenges will get even more difficult. David is a famous photographer for sports and music which means he takes photos of famous athletes or musicians and he is able to capture the right moment to take a beautiful photo. The main challenge for the contestants this episode was to capture the essence and to get to the core of the subject and have all these things in a photo. I feel like this show could be useful for beginners to see how professionals work and how sometimes you have a certain amount of time to take the perfect photo. This would also be useful to see how the judges judge the pictures and see what you should have in your photo and what you shouldn’t so others could learn and see how to capture a perfect photo. I feel as if being a photographer takes a lot of dedication because how you have to see every little thing for the photo for example the lighting the background the angles and much more.

Episode 1. Top Photographer with Nigel Barker

In the second episode they will be shooting for a famous designer and shooting for her campaign. They have to capture the idea of the clothes and capture a beautiful picture for the campaign but at the same time they have to take some risks. They are shooting these photos with the canon ds and they were each able to choose there model which inspired them the most from how they look and how there dress is. There main focus has to be the dress they have to bring out the dress as much as they can. They have to work with the dress, the model, and see how there hair and makeup will be which the last part is something they have to choose in order to take the perfect photo for the campaign. Then they had 30 minutes to take photos in a room and they were able to get creative and takes photos everywhere in the room. But the only struggle was that they had to see where the angles, the lighting, retouching the photo, editing, fixing lighting, and much more in a short period of time. I feel as if this task was more difficult considering that some of the contestants haven’t done this style of photography and how they had to bring out the dress with many things in the background. But overall its a better challenge so they could improve there photography and see what they have to do for these specific tasks. For example in order to bring out the dress they need to move things from the background so it wont take away the focus from the dress and they need to bring it out with lighting and angles as much as possible.

File Formats

JPEG: This is one of the well know files and its compressed quickly in the camera, and thus result in a loss of detail and quality they also store as much memory on the memory card as it can. The benefits is that it is a quicker file transfer times because of the smaller file size and one negative is that there’s less opportunity for image manipulation in photo editing software.

TIFF: This one is commonly used industry-standard file format and this file tends to take a lot of storage not only on your memory card but on your computer as well. One positive about it is that it has the ability to manipulate photos extensively in photo editing software and a negative is that it is a larger size which takes a lot of storage.

RAW: Raw is normally advanced compact cameras that are the best files for your cameras which is normally recommended by the professional photographers. One benefit from this is that it has an extensive options in post-processing and image manipulation but one negative is that the bigger file sizes means that there are more storage needed and longer post-processing times.

DNG: This format which was made by , created by Adobe which is a way to make a standard raw file format for the camera. One benefit from this file is that it has the ability to use the image processing software such as Lightroom and Photoshop then the negative is that it takes extra time to convert camera raw files to DNG.

PNG: This file was designed in the 90’s as a different and improved version of the GIF but the PNG are good for the internet which is used for it. One benefit from this file is that lossless compression means good image quality, which isn’t compromised when editing and one negative to it is that the quality will not be good enough for printing at any size.

GIF: The GIF is ideal for use on the internet and like a different file they allow for animation and are also have the ability to maintain transparency. One of the benefits is that it has a small file size that makes these ideal for use on the web and the negative is that it doesn’t support partial transparency like drop shadows.

BMP: This file was made by Microsoft and is another lossless file format that is a large file sizes as colour data is saved in each individual pixel in the image without any compression. One of the benefits from this is that it can be used for printing as images are saved in high quality format and one negative is that it is large files which means more storage is being taken.

PSD: This file is what Adobe Photoshop uses as a default to save data and this type of file allows for manipulation which is good. One benefit from this file is that once the image is ready it can be re-saved as any other file format and a negative from this is that the layered files can be incredibly large in size due all of the additional data stored.

Framing A Subject

AP: 1.7 ISO:20 S: 1/1012

I feel as if I have a good composition because I was able to take pictures of my main focuses and have enough lighting and the right amount of filter to make my pictures the way that I wanted to. I feel as if I edited my pictures good to match the aesthetic that I wanted to to be. For example I did 3 black and white pictures but one is darker then the two others to give more of a mood to the picture. Then the pictures with the eyes to be in black and white to match the mood that the eyes are giving which means to match the emotion the eyes are giving off. If I shot these types of pictures again I would figure out a way how to use the framing better and to show more emotion through the pictures. Then lastly I feel like my pictures are not that good to be better then the other students because I feel as if I didn’t do that good and maybe others did much better then me.
